Mumbai : Western Railway struck once in each half to record a 2-0 win against Karnatak Sporting Association in an Elite Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016, and played at the Cooperage ground on Monday afternoon.
Striker Somnath Mondal got Western’s opening goal inthe 11th minute before Sadique A netted the second in the 79th minute to seal the railwaymen’s victory. Meanwhile in a Super Division match Dena Bank scored a hard-fought 2-1 win against Springfield SC at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel. Arafat Ansari and Noel Rodrigues were bang on target for Dena Bank, while Akshay Shetty pulled one back for Springfield.
