Team India skipper Rohit Sharma's reaction went viral after Jaker Ali dropped a sitter off KL Rahul's bat in the Champions Trophy 2025 clash against Bangladesh on Thursday in Dubai. The 37-year-old seemed quite satisfied by the dropped chance as he recalled fluffing a chance off Jaker's bat himself during the first innings.
The incident occurred in the 37th over of the innings bowled by Taskin Ahmed as Rahul swatted one to the fielder in the deep. However, Jaker was likely troubled by the light coming through and could not hold on to the catch. It proved to be a decisive moment in the contest as Rahul remained unbeaten at 41 in the end formed a match-winning stand with Shubman Gill at a tricky stage to get the Men in Blue over the line with six wickets to spare.
Gill, nevertheless, picked up the Player of the Match for his unbeaten 101.

At the post-match presentation, Rohit claimed that he was aware of how the conditions will be in Dubai and feels the experience in their team helped massively in adapting to it. He stated:
"Before you come and play any game, you have to be confident. In the chase, as it goes on, there are different emotions that come through. But you have to be ready. We have been in that situation before. There's a lot of experience in the dressing room to stay composed. KL and Gill at the end were very composed. One game, very hard to make anything out of the track. Not much grass on it, we knew it would be on the slower side, and that is how it played. As a team, I thought we adapted to the conditions really well, with the bowling and with the bat as well.
The Men in Blue will next face Pakistan on February 23.
