Mumbai: D’Souza Football Academy combined well as a team and enjoyed complete domination against Falcon Brothers, Mulund and notched up a 3-0 victory in a Third Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League, here on Wednesday.
The Academy lads called the shots from the start and open the scoring through Madan Ghogle’s strike in the 16th minute before Aaron Rebello doubled the lead in the 21st minute, to take the laf-time with a 2-0 cushion. On resumption, Kenneth Fernandes put it beyond the rivals striking the target in the 44th minute.
Adarsh Sorte’s second half goal helped Footie First Juniors get the better of Madanpura SC Under-19 by a narrow 1-0 margin. In the other match, Chemburities FC eked out a 1-0 win against Rising Sun FC. Striker Shubham Bodke netted the match-winner.
BPFL from June 22
The Borivali Sports Foundation is set to conduct the fourth edition of the Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL), at the St. Francis D’Assisi High School ground, Borivali (West) from June 22. Twelve 12 teams, will be fighting it out for the top honours in the BPFL, which is gaining popularity amongst the football fraternity in Borivali.

Divya Deshpande, one of the top ranked players in the state, has been top-seeded in the women’s singles event in the season’s opener, MCF -All Mumbai 4-Star Ranking Table Tennis tournament, which gets underway at their complex at Borivali on Thursday.
