Mumbai: Defending champions Parsee Gymkhana produced another impressive all-around performance to emerge champions of the 70th Nawab Salar Jung Invitation T20 Cricket for the third successive year. At the Parsee Gymkhana ground here on Saturday, the side led by Mumbai Ranji skipper, Aditya Tare notched up their hat-trick handing Souvenir Cricket Club a 33-run victory.
Sent into bat, Parsee Gymkhana amassed 205 for nine, thanks to Ashay Sardesai (48), Akarshit Gomel (36), Aditya Dhumal (28), Aman Khan (27) and Sufiyan Shaikh (20) they put on a competitive target. A left-arm spinner who notched up the hat trick on Friday was again in the pick of the bowlers for Souvenir attack with four wickets.
Chasing quite a stiff target of 206 runs for victory, Souvenir CC was dismissed for a paltry 172 in 19.2 overs. Sachin Yadav put up a determined fight with 62 which was studded with four hits to the fence and five over. Parsee Gymkhana’s all-rounder Aditya Dhumal was declared as the Best player of the tournament, while the Best batsman and Best bowler of the tournament award were won by Sachin Yadav and Asif Shaikh respectively, both of Souvenir CC. Chief Guest, Milind Rege, a former Mumbai Ranji Trophy captain, and chief selector presented the 70th Nawab Salar Jung Trophy to the victorious Parsee Gymkhana captain Aditya Tare.
