Mumbai: After finishing runners-up last year, the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) are all set to make to the top in the second edition of the Olympic Day Celebration, an event organised by Hockey India.
Thanks to Hockey India, the children who are forced into their drawing rooms or inside the four walls, are now given opportunities to enhance the sporting spirit off the field in taking part in the events set for 23 June (Wednesday) at 6 pm.
“Yes, we had finished second last year, but this year we will make it to top,” said Lawrence Bing, the MSSA hockey secretary.
During this eventful day, Hockey India has requested all its members and member units to celebrate Olympic Day keeping in mind, MSSA has driven this event among children to keep alive with the spirit of sports rocking during this pandemic.
This event is also open for other non hockey playing schools as they can participate in essay writing, drawing and fitness video.
Videos on (#staystrong Mental and emotional well-being, #stayhealthy covid19 information and nutrition, #stayactive physical well-being), Art and craft (Topic on Olympian and Olympic values) Essay writing (importance on Olympics Day celebration) and videos on (workoutfromhome #stayfit and #Stayactive) have been lined up.
The MSSA hockey secretary has requested an additional video not more than one minute other than the above said activities for parents, coaches, students and friends to participate, for promotion of Indian men's and women's team for the upcoming Olympics.
