Mumbai: In keeping with the tradition of Olympic Day, Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) took a headstart to use the power of sports in keeping with directives issued by Hockey India and have celebrations galore, in the city recently.

With sporting activities having been grounded all over due to pandemic, MSSA once again explored innovative ways in the confines of homes and celebrate Olympic Day.

MSSA went one step ahead and have incorporated Olympic Day as part of their calendar across the school curriculum.

Off with a bag were institutions, children, parents, internationals, coaches from the city of Mumbai who came out in huge numbers to support and celebrate this initiative based on the three pillars of move, learn and discover.

MSSA also encouraged participation across a wide spectrum, regardless of age, gender, social background, or sporting ability, solely with the aim at promoting sports and spread the message of making sports an integral part of life. The activities from MSSA to commemorate Olympic Day included contributions through arts & crafts, essays, posters, videos.

MSSA once again left from where it made a mark last year, finishing as runners up in terms of largest number of contributions and this year 2021 has bought the spotlight back on MSSA as we finish as top contenders in terms of their participation @ Olympic Day through Hockey India.

Among institutions making a beeline and finishing with top honours were, Shri Balaji International School, St. Stanislaus High School and Ryan International and at John the evangelist
