The 2025 Miami Grand Prix delivered drama both on and off the track, with Lando Norris not only finishing second behind McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, but also stealing headlines with a bold, unscripted moment aimed at Max Verstappen.
Tensions flared when Max Verstappen defended hard against the charging McLaren, triggering a heated reaction from Norris. As frustration peaked, the Briton flashed a middle finger gesture towards the four-time world champion a clear sign of how intense their on-track rivalry has become. The moment, captured by trackside cameras, quickly spread across social media, sparking mixed reactions from fans and pundits alike.

In the early stages of the race, Norris and Verstappen locked horns in a fierce battle for the lead. The duel saw Norris briefly run wide and drop several places, letting Kimi Antonelli and Piastri slip past. But the Brit wasn’t out of the fight. Regrouping with typical tenacity, Norris carved his way back through the field, eventually catching up to Verstappen once again in the latter half of the race.
Despite the spicy exchange, Norris kept his cool where it mattered, reclaiming second and helping McLaren lock out the top two spots in a dominant 1-2 finish. Piastri, who had slipped past both Antonelli and Verstappen during the opening stint, led comfortably to the chequered flag, securing his fourth victory of the season and extending his lead in the championship.
Verstappen, who had started from pole, faded in the second half of the race and eventually crossed the line in fourth. George Russell salvaged a podium for Mercedes in third, albeit a distant 37 seconds behind Piastri.
Alex Albon impressed with a solid fifth for Williams, narrowly ahead of Antonelli in sixth. Ferrari’s struggles continued, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finishing seventh and eighth. Hamilton was briefly let through but later swapped back positions with Leclerc, only to be dragged into a late-race scrap with Carlos Sainz, who eventually settled for ninth. Yuki Tsunoda rounded out the points in tenth for Red Bull
