Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Amol Kale has tragically passed away in the United States of America (USA) due to cardiac arrest. The sad incident occurred a day after he attended the blockbuster India-Pakistan match at the Nassau International County Stadium in New York along with two of the MCA office-bearers.
Kale was present at the venue, which generated a lot of buzz amid the high-voltage clash, along with MCA Secretary Ajinkya Naik and apex council member Suraj Samat. A journalist named Amol Karhadkar posted their picture on the social media platform X and announced the tragic news.
Amol Kale emerged victorious in a closely-fought election in October 2022 against Sandeep Patil:
Kale succeeded Vijay Patil as the President of the MCA in October 2022 after overcoming a close battle with Sandeep Patil in the elections. Kale notably took the initiative of increasing Mumbai senior men's cricket team's match fees, beginning from the forthcoming season.
Kale hailed from Nagpur, but had been staying in Mumbai for a long time now and was reportedly closely associated with Maharashtra's deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. Kale had also started various side businesses and was a co-promoter of the Indian Street Premier League, a Tennis cricket tournament that started earlier this year.
