Veteran South African and Delhi Capitals cricketer Faf du Plessis agreed to an interesting request from a fan following their IPL 2025 match against the Punjab Kings on May 24, Saturday. With the fan wanting for du Plessis and Punjab Kings' co-owner Preity Zinta in a sports drama or Royal Romance, the Proteas batter said they should make it happen.

Du Plessis, who was released by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and went to the Capitals, had captained the franchise in the previous two matches of the season. Although the Capitals were defeated by the Mumbai Indians, they managed to upstage the PBKS on Saturday by chasing down a target of 207.

A user on X wrote by uploading a picture of Du Plessis standing with the Bollywood actress:

"Someone please cast @faf1307 and @realpreityzinta in a movie already He’s got the action-hero vibe. She’s aging like fine wine. Put them in a sports drama or a royal romance — don’t waste this visual perfection!"

The 40-year-old replied to it by saying:

"Make it happen."

Faf du Plessis has had a disappointing season with the bat

Contrary to expectations, the classy right-handed batter has struggled in IPL 2025, aggregating only 202 runs in nine innings at 22.44 alongside a strike rate of 123.93. It is also yet another season for the Capitals without them reaching the playoffs despite starting the season with four consecutive wins.

The Delhi-based franchise have finished the season with seven wins and six defeats in 14 matches, with one ending as no result.
