London: Leicester City, a small club from central England that started the season at 5000-1 odds of winning the prestigious English Premier League title, created history by clinching the trophy after Tottenham Hotspurs were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea in their league clash at Stamford Bridge.  Tottenham striker Harry Kane put his side ahead in the 35th minute of the match before they doubled their lead through Son Heung-min just one minute prior to the half-time.

But, Chelsea staged a spirited fight back in the second half with defender Gary Cahill scoring a goal in the 58th minute, followed by substitute Eden Hazard’s equalizer to give Leicester their first win in the club’s 132-year history, the Mirror reported.  After Leicester were held to a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at the Old Trafford, Tottenham’s only chance to seal their first title since 1961 was to win their final three games of the season.

But Guus Hiddink’s side had ensured to dent Tottenham’s dream of their maiden title by holding them to a frustrated draw.  Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri, however, would not be able to join his team in their celebration as he had gone to meet his 96-year-old mother, Renata.  Leicester will play their next inconsequential match against Everton on Saturday.
