Approximately after an hour after it was confirmed that Hardik Pandya has been retained by the Gujarat Titans, reports have again emerged that the all-rounder has been traded to Mumbai Indians. According to Cricbuzz, the deal has been signed by the franchises involved and that the Gujarat Titans have been given no player in return.
According to the sources in the BCCI and IPL, as reported by Cricbuzz, a formal approval was granted by the trade. However, the full details of the value of the trade are yet to come forward, but the all-rounder has charged his fee for the 2024 edition as ₹15 crore.
However, it remains to be seen if the 30-year-old will replace Rohit Sharma as captain, given the latter has won five titles for the Mumbai Indians since taking charge in 2013.
