Mumbai : Hamza Mujtaba’s brilliant four goals were the highlight of Indian Oil’s emphatic 13-3 win against Abhi Foundation in a Pool-A match of the MHAL Super Division League 2015.
Defending champions Indian Oil who produced a smooth pleasing display got the other nine goals through Inderjit Chadha and Prabhjot Singh both scoring a brace each and one each from the sticks of Vikas Sharma, Bharat Chikara, Roshan Minz, Raten Muthanna and Gagandeep Singh to complete the team’s third win in four games. Abhi Foundation managed to score through the efforts of Sanket Dhotre, Siddarth Pandey and Deepak Singh.
Later in the evening, Namdhari XI produced a superb fighting performance to overcome Central Railway 4-2 in another Pool-A clash. Gurjinder Singh, Bhagat Singh, Harwinder Singh and Bishan Singh, all contributed a goal apiece towards Namdhari’s win, while Central Railway hit back through Victo Singh and Mohd. Nizamuddin.
In another match of the same pool which was played earlier in the afternoon, Punjab National Bank scored in the final minute of the match through Damandeep Singh to defeat Indian Navy 1-0.
Damandeep Singh (PNB), Hamza Mujtaba (Indian Oil) and Harwinder Singh (Namdhari XI) were declared the ‘Man-of-the-match’ in their respective matches and all three received a cash award of Rs 1,000 each.
