Indian deaf cricket team to compete in T20 Asia Cup

New Delhi: India’s deaf cricket team is all set to compete in the Twenty20 Asia Cup to be held in Lahore from April 18 to 27. USHA International Ltd is the Indian team’s sponsor as the household consumer durable company today announced its association with the All Indian Cricket association for the Deaf to support the national team.

The Asia Cup is being organised by the Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association in collaboration with the PCB is an effort to provide a platform to the differently-abled cricketers to showcase their skill and talent, overcoming their disability. Six teams including Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan will compete against each other.

“Usha international is proud to be associated with such a wonderful endeavour. It is very heartening to see the differently-abled people rise above their disability and compete at such an international level tournament,” Komal Mehra, Events Head, Usha International said.
