Mumbai : It was a double delight for GSC’s Simran Singhi and Matunga Gymkhana’s Sai Dinesh Reddy at the DHFL Mumbai Suburban District Badminton Championship 2015 organised by JVPG club under the aegis of MSDBA.
Top seed Simran lived up to her reputation by winning the under 15 singles title beating Janhavi Jagtap 21-18, 21-15 and then followed it up by teaming up with Pooja Devlekar to defeat the pair of Arya Shetty and Janhavi Jagtap 17-21, 21-17, 21-8 in a keenly contested battle to win the Under-19 girls doubles title. In the Under-17 boys group, Sai Dinesh won both the singles and doubles events.
In the singles, Reddy comfortably overcame Akshan Shetty 21-8, 21-9 and then partnered Varun Mujumdar to beat Akshan Shetty and Gideon D’souza 23-12, 21-12 in the doubles final.
The fourth seed Samruddhi Kshatriya upset the second seed Manasi Karekar 21-8, 21-10 to win the under 13 girls title.
