Bahrain GP 2024 Qualifying: Max Verstappen Takes Pole Position Ahead Of Charles Leclerc and George Russell

The defending champion Max Verstappen will start the season with the first pole position at Bahrain Grand Prix 2024.

Red Bull Racing Team's and three-time World Champion Max Verstappen will start the race at Bahrain Grand Prix as he finished on top in the qualifying round of the Formula 1 season opener at Bahrain International Circuit on Friday, March 1.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and George Russell of Mercedes Team will take Pole 2 and Pole 3, respectively at Bahrain Grand Prix on Saturday. The defending champion Verstappen was too ahead of other drivers as he produced a 1m 29.421s  with his first Qualifying 3 race and bettered his timing in the second Q3 to eventually finish the qualifying round with two-tenths ahead of Charles Leclerc.

Carlos Sainz of Ferrari finished fourth in the qualifying round of the Bahrain Grand Prix despite finishing on top of the final practice session. Red Bull Racing Team's Sergio Perez will take the fifth pole ahead of Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin who finished sixth in the qualifying round.

Fernando Alonso only completed one run in the Qualifying 3 which initially put him on the third spot. However, Spanish Driver had to eventually slipped to the sixth positon when other drivers improved their speed in the closing minutes of qualifying round.

Lewis Hamilton settles ninth in Bahrain GP 2024 qualifying

The seven-time World Champion and Mercedes Team driver Lewis Hamilton will take the pole position behind Fernando Alonso, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri (McLaren) at the Formula Season 1 opener as he finished ninth in the qualifying round.

The spotlight was on Lewis Hamilton as he began the farewell Formula 1 season with Mercedes. Hamilton will end his 11-year association with Mercedes at the end of the ongoing F1 season and will begin his new career with Scuderia Ferrari in 2025.

Nico Hulkenberg of Haas F1 Team had moderate racing in initial two qualifying rounds but managed to impress throughout Q3 and finished in the top 10 ahead of the main race of Bahrain Grand Prix 2024.

Yuki Tsunoda of RB Honda finished 11th and will take pole ahead of Lance Stroll of Aston Marin Amarco Mercedes and Williams Mercedes's Alexander Albon, who finished 12th and 13th in the qualifying round of Bahrain Grand Prix.

Poor show by Alpine Renault drivers

Alphine Renault had a disastrous qualifying round as drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finished bottom two, taking pole positions 19 and 20, respectively.

Alpine Renault drivers will have to remove their speed and time to be better at the main race of the Bahrain Grand Prix. Gasly was the best driver for Alpine in the last season, finishing 11th in the World Drivers' Championships.

After a thrilling qualifying session, drivers and the teams will look to regroup before returning to Bahrain International Circuit for the F1 season opener on Saturday.
