Filmmaker Vetrimaaran has all the reasons to celebrate right now, as his latest film 'Viduthalai: Part 1' starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi has been at the receiving end of a lot of fan love and critical acclaim, following its release, last week.
The outpour of love has had the fans asking for more. Clearly, they are looking forward to the second part i.e 'Viduthalai: Part 2'. But not before the filmmaker delivers the long-announced sequel to his 2018 hit 'Vada Chennai' starring Dhanush.

At the audio and trailer launch of actor/filmmaker Raghava Lawrence's upcoming film 'Rudhran', the five-time National Award-winning filmmaker promised that he will definitely being work on 'Vada Chennai 2', but after he finishes 'Viduthalai: Part 2', followed by 'Vaadivaasal' starring Suriya in the lead.
Amidst roaring applause from the audience, the filmmaker has assured that 'Vada Chennai 2' is not a castle built in the air, but a promise that is waiting to be fulfilled.
Sooner, fans and fan clubs on social media have been abuzz with excitement.
The announcement of 'Vada Chennai 2' not only spills joy for Dhanush fans but also for fans of good cinema. For the uninitiated, the combination of Dhanush and vetrimaaran has given Tamil cinema, some of its landmark films including 'Polladhavan' (2007), 'Aadukalam' (2011) and 'Asuran' (2019).
The duo have won National Film Awards as Best Actor and Best Director respectively for 'Aadukalam' and 'Asuran'.
