Living In Hindu Religion Like Slavery, Buddhism Offers Freedom: Sukumar Kamble At Literary Meet |

“Being in the Hindu region is like living in slavery. Hindu religion has no founder, and hence the burden of the religion is placed on our minds. The community brethren should be aware of it immediately. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar has given freedom to participate in power through the constitution in a democratic way,” opined litterateur Sukumar Kamble.

He was delivering a speech as the president of the third Phule, Shahu, Ambedkar Literary Meet held at the PES Engineering College on Sunday. Chief guest Pralhad Lulekar, reception committee president Rishikesh Kamble, Dr. Devdatta Mhatre, Shridhar Nandedkar, Abhijeet Wadekar, Dhanyakumar Tilak, Dr. Mohan Saundarya, Dr. Yuvraj Dhabadge, Dr. Balasaheb Lihinar, and others were present on the dais.

Kamble further narrated his journey from the Hindu Matang community to Buddhism and also spoke about the past and present situation of the community. He mentioned that while being in the Hindu religion was like living in slavery, in Buddhism, it feels like freedom. He highlighted the several inhuman traditions inflicted on the lower castes.

Lulekar said he is making efforts to raise the minds of the people influenced by the thoughts of Phule, Shahu, and Ambedkar, as the present social system has closed the doors of education on the lower castes. Dr. Ambedkar has emancipated the downtrodden people, and hence he is the architect of this country in the real sense, Lulekar said.
