In response to persistent traffic congestion issues in the bustling Chakan industrial area, which has witnessed substantial growth in both industrial and residential sectors, relief appears to be on the horizon.
Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao led a meeting on Monday in response to traffic complaints raised by the industrial community, particularly concerning the Pune-Nashik, Chakan-Talegaon, and Chakan-Shikrapur highway segments connecting with the Chakan MIDC.
This meeting, conducted at Vidhan Bhavan, featured the participation of several prominent figures, including Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey and District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh.
Several key decisions emerged from the meeting, including a 100-meter extension of ST bus stops at Talegaon Chowk and Ambethan Chowk, the relocation of the labor base at Talegaon Chowk, removal of encroachments in the surrounding areas within the next seven days, and the implementation of measures to prevent water accumulation on the road.
Furthermore, the meeting resolved to conduct a structural audit of the bridge near the police station at Mahalunge, with immediate repairs to avert potential accidents.
