The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is working at full speed to complete the asphalting of a seven-kilometer stretch on the old Kasara Ghat along the Mumbai-Agra highway. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, raising hopes that the ongoing traffic restrictions may be lifted sooner than planned.

To facilitate the road repair work, authorities have imposed traffic restrictions on the old Kasara Ghat route between Nashik and Mumbai from Monday to Thursday, and again from March 3 to 6.

The seven-kilometer stretch undergoing repairs is a crucial link on the Mumbai-Nashik route. NHAI officer Dilip Patil has assured that efforts are being made to complete the work before Friday. If completed early, there will be no need for further traffic restrictions in March.

Temporary Traffic Diversions
Due to the ongoing repair work, vehicles are currently using the new Kasara Ghat route during the day. The one-way diversion starts at Chintamanwadi police post, ensuring smooth traffic flow. Once the work is completed, normal traffic movement is expected to resume without restrictions.

With rapid progress on the project, commuters may soon experience uninterrupted travel through Kasara Ghat, reducing delays and easing congestion on this vital highway.

Key restrictions include:
Daytime Closure (8 AM – 6 PM): The old Kasara Ghat remains closed for vehicular traffic. Vehicles traveling from Mumbai to Nashik are rerouted via the new Kasara Ghat during these hours.
Nighttime Traffic (6 PM – 8 AM): After 6 PM, regular traffic resumes on the old Kasara Ghat until 8 AM the next morning.
Heavy Vehicle Ban: All heavy vehicles are completely restricted from using both the Mumbai-Nashik and Nashik-Mumbai routes through the Kasara Ghat.
