Traffic Restrictions In Mankhurd Ahead Of Bakri Eid 2025; Mumbai Police Issues Special Orders From May 26 To June 9

According to the notification, all heavy and light vehicles (except BEST buses and essential services) will be prohibited 24x7 on several major routes including Panjarapol Junction to Morandi Railway Station and Shivajinagar to Govandi Railway Station. Additionally, some roads will be made one-way to ease congestion.

Mumbai: In anticipation of Bakri Eid 2025, the Mumbai Traffic Police has announced special traffic regulations for Mankhurd and adjoining areas from May 26 to June 9, to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety during the festive period. The directives were issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Eastern Suburbs).

According to the notification, all heavy and light vehicles (except BEST buses and essential services) will be prohibited 24x7 on several major routes including Panjarapol Junction to Morandi Railway Station and Shivajinagar to Govandi Railway Station. Additionally, some roads will be made one-way to ease congestion.

Alternative Routes Arranged:

Motorists are advised to use Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road and V.N. Purav Marg as alternate routes to avoid delays.

Special Instructions for Animal Transport Vehicles: Vehicles ferrying animals to and from the Deonar abattoir must strictly follow designated routes. While Madhukar Kadam Marg will remain open for such vehicles, parking will be prohibited on all other roads in the vicinity.

Strict Ban on Parking: To prevent traffic jams, parking of all types of vehicles is strictly prohibited on key roads around the Deonar area.

Temporary Parking Facilities: Temporary parking spaces have been arranged for citizens visiting the area to purchase animals, in order to manage crowds efficiently. The traffic police has appealed to citizens to cooperate and follow the revised traffic rules for a smooth and safe celebration.
