In the early morning on Sunday, April 10, at around 5:30 am in an unfortunate incident one woman was killed and two others were injured when a portion of an adjacent house collapsed on their residence in Bhiwandi, Thane district.
Speaking with Free Press Journal the Thane Municipal Corporation's (TMC) Regional Disaster Management Cell Chief Avinash Sawant said, "On Sunday early morning the balcony of a single-storey house crashed on a house located next to it. We received a call at our disaster management cell office and we rushed to the spot with our team along with local firemen, Shanti Nagar police station officials, team of doctors, and all together we carried out relief and rescue operations."
Sawant further added, "The occupant of the house on which the adjoining house balcony collapsed died on the spot while two others were injured and they have been admitted to Sion Hospital in Sion and Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Bhiwandi respectively."
"With the help of locals, Shadab Ansari and Ishan Ansari were rescued with injuries from the slabs they were stuck in," informed Sawant.
The identified deceased woman is Gulshan Sagir Ansari (45) and the injured have been identified as Sagir Khalil Ansari (45) and Mehtab Ansari (25).
