Kharghar: A Zomato customer shared his disturbing experience after discovering a dead cockroach inside a sandwich he had ordered from ‘Chaatwich’, a popular food outlet located in Sector 19, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
The incident occurred on April 10, when the customer had placed an order for a 'Cheese Chilli Sandwich' via the food delivery platform. According to him, he noticed the cockroach only after consuming nearly half of the sandwich. To support his claims, the customer recorded a video of the sandwich, clearly showing the dead insect, seemingly a cockroach, inside the food.

He later visited the ‘Chaatwich’ outlet in person to confront a staff member about the issue and returned the contaminated sandwich. The video drew attention towards the need for stricter food quality checks at eateries listed on online food delivery platforms.
So far, Zomato has not issued an official response to the complaint.
