Navi Mumbai News: Free Acting Workshop In Kharghar From June 30 For Aspiring Performers, Organised By PMC And Marathi Natya Parishad |

For budding performers and theatre enthusiasts in Panvel and Kharghar, the stage is set. A seven-day free acting workshop, jointly organized by the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, Panvel Branch, is all set to begin from June 30 at Ramsheth Thakur Public School, Kharghar, offering the opportunity to learn from veterans of the stage and screen.

"The initiative is seen as  a platform for nurturing untapped talent, especially among local youth. What makes the workshop stand out is its accessibility: no fees, expert mentorship, and a chance to perform and grow within a professional environment," said an officer.

The adminstration terms to have received overwhelming response . Organizers have extended the workshop across three daily sessions morning, afternoon, and evening ensuring that no aspiring actor is left behind.

Participants are divided into two age groups: (8 to 16 years) (16 to 60 years)

Each group will include 30 selected trainees, offering focused instruction in foundational and advanced acting techniques.

"This initiative isn’t just about acting—it's about expression, confidence, and creating a cultural identity for Panvel on the state stage," said an official from the PMC.

The workshop will culminate with a valedictory event on July 7, where all participants will receive certificates, and showcase their learnings in front of an invited audience.

Administration informed that this marks the first time such a comprehensive acting workshop is being brought directly to Kharghar by the municipal body, with plans already in place to replicate the model in other areas. Paresh Thakur, Vice President of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad and former House Leader, has hinted at a series of similar workshops to come, citing the importance of structured training in the performing arts.
