A bizarre incident has come forth where a pet sitter, even after three months, is yet to return a six-month-old pet Labrador to Goregaon-based family.

According to Mid-Day, the Kothari family from Goregaon trusted a family friend to take care of Neo (the six-month-old pet Labrador) for a few days while they went on holiday. The Labrador was purchased by Goregaon businessman Saurabh Kothari and his family. After this, in October, the family had planned for a vacation for four days and were searching for a pet sitter. Saurabh Kothari’s younger brother Shubham found a girl in his friend circle, who agreed to keep the dog for four days.

The Kothari family handed over Neo to the girl, who told the family she lived in a high-rise, on October 27. The family also gave the food and medicines for Neo. After four days, when the family returned back, they contacted the girl. The girl refused to hand over Neo to them. When the family reached the address she had given to them, it turned out to be fake. The family kept on tracking the girl and finally located her at Santacruz.

The Kothari family then approached the local police who directed them to Goregaon police station. The police have recorded Saurabh Kothari’s statement and have summoned the girl too. The cops are currently investigating the matter, after which they will register a complaint once they find out who the actual legal custodian of the dog is.
