Mumbai: Mumbai : A bomb threat call received on January 17, 2025, led to the arrest of a man from Dharavi after swift police action. The Dharavi Police Station received information from the control room about a call from an unknown number claiming that a bomb had been planted in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Dharavi.

Acting on the tip, a technical investigation was launched to trace the caller. By evening, the police apprehended the suspect, identified as Narendra Ganpat Kawale, a 42-year-old resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Dharavi, near the bus depot.

A background check revealed that Kawale had a prior history of similar offenses. In 2022, he was involved in a bomb threat case registered at the Azad Maidan Police Station under ections 501(1), 506(2), and 182 of the IPC. Further investigations are underway, and Kawale remains in custody as authorities probe the motive behind the hoax calls.
