Mumbai: The airport police booked an unidentified individual for allegedly making a fake bomb threat. The accused left a threat letter in the lavatory of IndiGo's Goa-to-Mumbai flight (6E-5101) on January 13. One side of the letter read, "Be careful, bomb," while the other side stated, "Revenge."

According to the FIR, on January 13, the IndiGo flight departed from Manohar International Airport, Goa, at 9.39 PM for Mumbai. About 20 minutes before landing, a passenger, Himanshu Khanna, informed a crew member that a bomb threat letter had been discovered in the lavatory.

The letter, written with a blue pen, had "Be careful, bomb" on one side and "Revenge" on the other. It was placed near the soap case. The crew retrieved the letter and handed it over to the pilot, Pushkraj Wagh.

The pilot immediately notified Air Traffic Control and other relevant authorities. The flight landed at an isolation bay at 10.43 PM at Mumbai Airport. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the airline's security team, and aircraft maintenance engineers thoroughly inspected the plane, both inside and out, but found nothing suspicious.

Abhijit Sawant, 33, the airline’s assistant security manager, filed a complaint with the Sahar police. The police registered a case under Sections 353(1)(b) (statements that can cause public mischief, including false or misleading statements), 351(4) (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication), and 125 (acts endangering personal safety) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on January 14.
