The unveiling ceremony of the logo of Sant Chokhamela Memorial Hospital, Alandi, was held in Mumbai on February 19, on the ocassion of Shiv Jayanti.
The hospital is being built in the name of Sant Chokhamela, a Bhakti poet and saint, for the service of the Warkari community.
The chief guests present at the event were Ulhasbhau Muke, president, Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Charitable Trust, Mumbai Dabbewala Association and vice president Chintaman Bachche, treasurer Ashok Kumbhar, members Machhindra Jagtap, Shivaji Raudhal, and others. Jyoti Sathe, oresident, Dishajyoti Foundation, Mumbai, and Sachin Patil, president, Vrindavan Foundation, and executive trustee, Sant Chokhamela Memorial Hospital, were also present.
The dignitaries present at the event discussed the purpose behind the establishment of Sant Chokhamela Memorial Hospital, its importance for the Warkari community, and the significance of Sant Chokhamela's legacy.Pure devotion is the true wealth: these words of Saint Chokhamela, who emphasised the importance of pure devotion, have inspired the establishment of a hospital in his name.
The hospital aims to provide healthcare services to Warkari pilgrims, devotees, and needy citizens in the Alandi-Dehu region at a nominal cost of just ₹10. Through this hospital, free health services, medical check-ups, and treatments will be provided, according to the organizers.
This event was jointly organised by Mumbai Dabbewala, Sant Chokhamela Memorial Hospital, and Sant Chokhamela Adhyayan Kendra.The organisers said that Vrindavan Foundation's initiative has taken Saint Chokhamela's legacy forward, marking an important milestone in his mission.
