Mumbai: Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to gender equality, empowerment, and inclusivity.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Manisha Jha, Chairman of the Konkan Railway Women's Cultural & Social Service Association (KRWC & SSA), who emphasized the crucial role of women in shaping families, workplaces, and society.

Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman & Managing Director / KRCL, also addressed the gathering with insightful remarks, highlighting the indispensable role of women in the growth and success of the organization. He reiterated KRCL’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and ensuring equal opportunities for women across all levels.

The event featured an inspiring keynote address by Dr. Meeran Chadha Borwankar, IPS (Retd.), Former Director General of Police, Maharashtra, who shared her experiences in law enforcement and spoke on the significance of women breaking barriers in leadership roles. She encouraged women to embrace their potential, challenge societal stereotypes, and advocate for their rights.

Adding to the discourse on women’s well-being, Dr. Deepa Kala, Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Former Professor at Terna Medical College, shed light on essential aspects of women's health, including reproductive care, preventive healthcare, and the importance of self-care in achieving overall well-being.

The celebration also included engaging discussions and interactive sessions aimed at empowering women and recognizing their invaluable contributions. KRCL remains dedicated to fostering a workplace that upholds gender equality and promotes opportunities for women at all levels. Through continuous initiatives and supportive policies, Konkan Railway reaffirms its commitment to creating an inclusive and progressive society where women can flourish.
