Mumbai: Gurudas Kamat, former Union Minister of State, MP and AICC General Secretary, filed a civil suit for damages of Rs 50 crore in the Bombay High Court against the Newspaper Vruttmanas, it’s Editor and Associate Editor, for totally baseless, malicious and defamatory articles and editorial published on 19th, 20th and 21st of April, 2014 with a view to damage his reputation and attempt to mar the Electoral prospects in the Lok Sabha Election which was held on 24th of April, 2014. Kamat has also filed a criminal complaint against Vruttmanas, its Editor and Associate Editor on the same charges as described above in the Metropolitan Magistrate 10th Court at Andheri on Thusday. The Magistrate issued process and fixed the next date of hearing for June 7th.
