Mumbai: Students are waiting with bated breath: Results of Class 10 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board examinations will be declared on Saturday at 1 pm. Over 17.51 lakh students are hopeful of passing in the examination as they have already registered for the online admissions process for First Year Junior College (FYJC). Following the error in addition of marks in Class 12 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) board results, students are keeping fingers crossed that there should not be a replay in Class 10. Recently, over 8,000 students of HSC complained that their final scores were low, as their internal assessment marks were not added to their final results.
Class X students cannot afford any such errors as the FYJC admission process will begin immediately after results are declared. Girish Pandit, a student, said, “We hope our marks are calculated correctly and there are no errors. The FYJC admission is a tedious process which drags on for at least three months; so, we cannot waste any time in rechecking or verification of marks.” Some students are apprehensive that they might score low marks as the examination pattern has changed with no internal tests for language subjects this year.
Says Nidhi Chawla, “For the first time, we had a 100 marks theory paper with no internal tests for language subjects. We are scared this will affect our overall percentage, as internal tests give us an opportunity to score high marks.” Authorities of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) claim the assessment has been done without errors. A senior officer of the MSBSHSE, Mumbai division, said, “We have completed the assessment and addition of marks of all examinations.” Students can check their results online at www.mahresult.nic.in.
