Ujjain: Members of Western Railway Employees Union (WREU) and Western Railway Majdoor Sangh (WRMS) staged a demonstration in front of the Ujjain lobby here on Sunday to register their protest against discriminatory orders of Ratlam divisional officials. Under the joint banner of WREU and WRMS, more than 50 driver and guards assembled in front of the Ujjain lobby and raised slogans against the divisional management. WREU divisional president SS Sharma informed that the conduct of new train Indore-Gandhidham Express (19336/19335), which was flagged-off from Indore on Sunday, between Indore and Ratlam was assigned to Ujjain running staff. But, all of a sudden, senior electrical engineer, Ratlam changed the earlier order and assigned the task to Ratlam headquarters’ running staff.

According to WREU leader SS Sharma, for the last 20-25 years the conduct of trains between Ujjain-Indore and Ujjain-Bhopal is being looked after by the Ujjain running staff, but the divisional management has intentionally devoid the Ujjain running staff from the same gradually over the years. Now about 26 mail express trains are being run by the staff of Ratlam divisional headquarters, which is not only an injustice, but discrimination with Ujjain running staff. WRMS secretary BL Suryawanshi warned that such a step-motherly treatment would not be tolerated.
