My favourite outfit: Anything which I am comfortable in. For instance, loose pants and shirts and salwar kameez.

My outfit for the day: I usually wear loose pants and loose shirts or long skirts and a shirt.

My outfit for an evening wear: If I am going to a friend’s place I would wear pants and a jacket and a shirt or a pair trousers. When I am going out I like to dress in formals. For a film function I would wear a sari.

In saris I like to wear: Soft saris not the thick ones, or I like to wear soft silks.

The outfit I wore for my wedding: I wore my grandma’s Nauvari sari. It was cobalt blue in colour with traditional Maharashtrian jewellery, including a nathani and a kamarpatta.

The outfits we wore for our reception at the Club: My husband wore a cream sherwani and I wore a peach colour ghagra choli. Both outfits were designed by Reza.

My favourite colours: I like all shades of orange, peach and pastels. Sometimes I like to go in for really bright colours like red and shocking pink.

My favourite fabric: What I actually like, you know, is my old T-shirts because they are very soft and therefore really comfortable. It does draw my mom’s attention but I really like to wear them as I am most comfortable in them.

My favourite accessories: I love to wear rings but I like small stuff not the chunky variety.

The outfit that suits me the best: In Indian clothes, I like myself best in saris, in western outfits I like myself in suits like jackets and pants, or something long like coats.

The brands I patronise: I am not a brand freak. You should look good, that’s it. I don’t carry labels with me, I hate it.

When I am abroad I shop at: All the malls stock the same styles and colours but I remember when I went to Mexico there is a place called Rosarito where you have excellent shops with beautiful stuff.

The best dressed man in the industry according to me: Shah Rukh dresses very well.

The best dressed woman in the industry: Rekha.

I like my man to be dressed in: Casuals like T-shirts and jeans. I’d like him to wear suits for formal functions.

On the first day for my shoot of Abodh I wore: A chamkeela ghagra choli with a long choti. I kept tripping on my ghagra all the time. I remember before I signed the film I had lovely, long hair. One day I went and cut my hair really short, like a boy. Now when I had to report for the shoot I had to wear a long wig which was so difficult to manage. Now when I see Abodh I feel that my head looked bigger than my body!

My hair is: Thick, dark brown and shoulder length.

At home I wear my hair: Tied in a casual ponytail.

At parties: I like to leave my hair loose.

At nights: I just clip my hair casually.

For oiling my hair: I use coconut oil once a week.

When I am not shooting: I hardly use any make-up, I just wear a dash of lipstick.

Features I like to highlight: My eyes.
