Indore : Members of Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha, on Friday met Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalya (DAVV) Vice Chancellor Prof DP Singh and sought his support for admission of a Pakistani girl student, Kanchan Kariar, in the MBA programme.
A policy of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) to allocate seats of technical courses only to Indian students is preventing Kanchan, who completed her BBA degree from a local college— from securing admission in the MBA course.
Free Press raised Kanchan’s grievance in its edition published on Friday.
On Friday afternoon, a delegation of Sindhu Sabha, Kanchan in tow, met the V-C and requested him to pitch for her.
The members of the delegation said that Kanchan had completed BBA degree from the DAVV so the university should press for her if any organisation denies admission to her in PG course.
The submitted a memorandum to the VC saying that they would also seek intervention of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in the matter.
Later on the instructions of the VC, registrar RD Musalgaonkar dashed off a letter to the DTE highlight the issue raised by the Bhartiya Sindhu Sabha.
The VC said that the issue was related to the DTE so the memo submitted by the Bhartiya Sindhu Sabha was forwarded to it.
