Indore : The University Grants Commission has invited representatives of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya and Cloth Market Girls’ College to give presentation over their respective proposals for setting up ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyay Centre for Knowledge Acquisition and Upgradation of Skilled Human Abilities and Livelihood (KAUSHAL)’.
The DAVV has proposed to run as many as 38 vocational courses from the centre and sought Rs 6.85 crore grant from the UGC.
Cloth Market College Mangal Mishra said that they have not quoted any amount in their proposal but wished to offer some courses through KAUSHAL centre. The DAVV has proposed to run courses under in five areas including applied arts, health care, media, technical skills and soft skills.
“We have proposed to start with 17 diploma courses in the initial year. Gradually, we will add on the courses in the following years,” said Maya Ingle, DAVV coordinator for proposed KAUSHAL Centre.
