Upper Veda Dam to be filled up to 317 meters

Bhikangaon : Administration has achieved success in moving ahead with filling the Veda Dam upto the level of 317 meters as Supreme Court has ruled in this favour.

SDM SP Singh, Tehsildar PS Awasya, Chief Engineer VC Jain, Executive Engineer NVDA RA Tiwari had a discussion with 20 families of Palda and 7 families of Sonud who are affected by sinking area. The affected families later agreed to move out of their homes.

Rehabilitation commissioner Renu Pant had visited rehabilitation area and affected places and had given instructions for providing shelter and food to the effected people. SDM and NVDA officials were asked to make arrangements for ration and kerosene supply for two months. On Thursday, effected families were brought to the higher places by two boats. Later they were taken to rehabilitation shelters.

Rehabilitation commissioner Pant said that the dam would be filled upto the level of 317 meters.
