Indore : The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has taken tough stand against those employers who yet to update KYC for Universal Account Number (UAN) of their employees. The EPFO is going to file suit against such employers.

Despite repeated instruction to the employers, the EPFO observed that the attitude of 50 per cent of employers was obstinate and they did not file the KYC of their employees so far.

To oversee the matter, PF Commissioner Ajay Mehra has constituted a Special Cell comprising Regional PF Commissioner Gajala Khan, Commissioner PC Gupta and Assistant Commissioner Ajendra Tripathi. The Cell will review the progress regularly.

It may be recalled that the updation of the UAN in the EPFO is going on for the last 10 months. The updation will help the employees avail the facility. The EPFO has also instructed the employees to upload the bank account number, Aadhar number, PAN card, Voter Card and other KYC. By approving through digital signature, the employees have to activate the account.

PF Commissioner Mehra told that UAN is necessary for availing better service. He said: We are doing our best to ensure 100% compliance of the KYC. But, the employers are not showing any interest. The department will start taking action against the truant employers soon.
