Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A woman, along with an oxygen cylinder, was seen being ferried to a district hospital on a wooden cart after an ambulance failed to reach on time, INDIA TODAY has reported. The incident, which reportedly took place in the Ujjain district came to light after a video went viral on social media.
The 30-year-old woman, who was suffering from breathlessness, was taken to the hospital by her family members on time. The woman was a resident of Govinda village of Shajapur district in Madhya Pradesh. She was taken to her relatives to Ujjain on a bike after she experienced breathlessness.
As the woman's condition deteriorated, her family members called the ambulance but to no avail. Later, her relatives bought a wooden cart for Rs 50 and ferried the woman to the hospital along with an oxygen cylinder. The woman's condition is now stable, according to INDIA TODAY.
The Ujjain collector said he was not aware of any such video but said, "people should call our helpline number (1075) during an emergency and they will be provided services".
