Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan dedicated Dongla Observatory auditorium virtually from Kalidas Sanskrit Academy Complex, here on Sunday afternoon.

He also unveiled foundation stones of construction works worth over Rs 55 crore under Smart City Project from the same venue.

Speaking at the programme CM said, new era is beginning in Ujjain today. It is unmatchable city since time immemorial.

We want to work in all 10 directions in Ujjain as well as MP. New employment avenues are being generated. Ujjain will soon develop into an industrial hub and will provide jobs to 12,000 people. We would also ensure development in areas of science and astronomy.

Even after doing several remarkable works for the preparations of Simhastha Fair-2028, there is no full stop for Ujjain’s development so we have returned back. We want Ujjain to be best among three worlds.

Science and technology and small, micro industries minister Om Prakash Sakhlecha said that today Ujjain has witnessed a new era. Whether it is the establishment of an auditorium or the establishment of an observatory, whether it is infrastructure development, today a lot of work has been done in this area in the district. He said that the CM cares for all sections.

MPCoST director general Dr Anil Kothari presented a special type of binoculars to CM Chouhan. The programme began with lighting of the traditional lamp. Shailendra Vyas aka Swami Muskurake conducted the proceedings while MLA Paras Jain proposed the vote of thanks.

‘We got careless after first wave’

CM further said, second wave gave us deep wounds during corona pandemic. We got careless after first wave. Corona virus changes its variants and we have to fight against them. I humbly request the people to not to sit carelessly. Situation is not good in neighbouring Maharashtra and Kerala. Third wave’s danger still looms large. We will increase RTPCR tests. I myself take tests every week. Ujjain is has no cases today, but don’t sit carelessly. Contact tracing is must. Public should strictly follow Covid-19 guidelines. I pray Lord Mahakal that days of second wave do not come again. We are running cash strapped government anyhow, but there will be no dearth of money to ensure all arrangements to tackle third wave of Covid-19.

‘Chief minister has brought back era of Varahamihira, Aryabhatta’

Higher education minister Mohan Yadav said that CM Chouhan has given many gifts to the district today. Dongla Observatory is about to become the Greenwich of the future. In true sense the time will be calculated from Dongla of Ujjain. Today the knowledge tradition of India has been established. All the resources have been mobilised in this observatory. A state-of-the-art auditorium has been built. The observatory will become a centre for physics and mathematics. Time will be calculated from Ujjain. Yadav said that Ujjain would be recognised as a science city.The CM has brought back the era of Varahamihira and Aryabhatta, he said.

CM is Bhagirathi of Kalyug’

Member of Parliament Anil Firojia said that the CM has made a good start by establishing the textile industry today. The CM is the Bhagirathi of Kalyug. He has brought Narmada water to Kshipra. The establishment of an oxygen plant will help in the fight against corona. He said that the development works which were done during Simhastha Fair-2016 are continuing even today. The road has been opened to provide employment to 25 thousand people in the district.
