Indore : Two young men were caught with Rs 32.58 lakh during a routine check by Juni Indore police on late on Monday night. The police suspect that the money may be connected to hawala trade and are questioning the two suspects closely. The police have informed the Income Tax Department about the recovery of the money.

Juni Indore police station In-charge Pawan Singhal said two youth, riding a motorcycle, were stopped at a check point late on Monday night at Sneh Nagar.

They were carrying a bag which containing Rs 32.58 lakh. Upon questioning, the two youths could not reply satisfactorily about the money.

The two were brought to Juni Indore police station. They were identified as Rajesh Nimadia of Sukhliya and Jitendra Rao of Karasdev Nagar.

The duo told the police that they were employed by an iron merchant and were told to take the money to Loha Mandi where they would have been told the name of person to whom the money was to be delivered.

Singhal said that the police are working on the assumption that the money is connected to hawala trade. The income tax department has also been informed and combined inquiry into the matter is underway.
