Ratlam: Congressmen in Jaora submit memorandum against inflated electricity bills

The memorandum stated that energy meters of several consumers were changed in Jaora tehsil without informing them.

Jaora (Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh): Congress registered protest against inflated electricity bills issued to consumers and submitted a memorandum to west discom divisional engineer, which was addressed to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The memorandum submitted on Friday stated that electricity meters of several consumers were changed in Jaora tehsil without informing them. Those who received monthly bills up to Rs 200 have received bills of Rs 5,000 this month.

The memorandum also stated that power cuts are frequent in tehsil. The consumers’ complaints about power cuts remain unattended. After taking memorandum divisional engineer Amit Patel assured to look into the matter.

Jaora Block Congress Committee president Manak Chaprod, acting president Block Congress Committee Ajizur Rehman Pathan, state general secretary Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee Mohammad Yusuf Kadpa and others were present when memorandum was submitted.
