Local police on Monday arrested a person who had raped a girl on the pretext of securing a role for her in films and TV serials. The accused, close aide of Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla, was threatening the victim and her family, while he on the run. According to police, accused Sunil Jain was arrested from Bapat Square. He had changed his SIM due, which made it difficult for police to catch him.
Acting on tip off, police nabbed him from Bapat Square from where he was on way to hide at another place. A case of rape was registered against him 15 days back when a girl lodged a written complaint that Jain sexually exploited her on the pretext of getting her role in films and television shows.
“The accused threatened the victim even after he was booked. Therefore, a case of threatening was also registered against him,” police said. Accused who is a close aide of Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla often flaunted his political links before people.
