Indore: In its endeavor to improve quality of education, the State government has decided to promote 10 government and autonomous institutions with potential for collaboration with national and international institutes. The government has constituted a five- member committee that would identify the colleges from across the state and prepare a blueprint for tie- ups with elite intuitions.

The chairman of the committee is Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Vice Chancellor Prof DP Singh.The members of the committee are: Prof AK Pandey, chairman, Private University Regulatory Authority ( MP); KM Jain, joint director, Higher Education Academy; SD Singh, OSD, higher education and Anand Kumar Singh, OSD, Higher Education Academy.
The committee would select colleges with potential for tieups with national and international level institutes and recommend their names to the government. Quality would be the only criterion for selection. The committee is also responsible for selecting national and international institutes with whom the state colleges would tie- up.
The government has asked the committee members to try to convince central institutions running in the state for MoUs with the 10 select colleges and also to prepare format of the MoU. Initially, the government would promote 10 government and autonomous colleges for collaborations.
The committee will give its recommendations also on improving quality of education in the state colleges.The committee has been given February 10 as deadline to do the needful.
