Indore : The tall claims of IMC officials on the collection of garbage from city areas found to be wrong by the 5-member team constituted by the district collector.

The IMC officials had claimed that nearly 1000 tonne garbage are being lifted from city areas and disposed at the trenching ground daily. As per the findings, the IMC is disposing only around 555 tonne garbage daily.

On Tuesday, the report of the findings by the team was submitted to the collector.

According to one of the members, Kishore Kodwani, the tall claims of the IMC proved to be wrong as the ground reality was contrast to the claims. Even after 72 hrs of observation, several flaws in the garbage collection procedure were found. Only on day one, the garbage disposal was around 921 tonne.

The social activist Kodwani told Free Press that the IMC had claimed of lifting 1,000 tonne garbage daily, which in fact was just around 555tonne. It was said that in total 280 vehicles are deployed to collect garbage from the city periphery by the IMC. Of these, 21 vehicles are found to be in poor condition. 68 vehicles are small ones and collect garbage from colonies. 77 vehicles are given to the A2Z Company and the IMC has eight dumpers for collecting the garbage.
