Indore : The most awaited sonography machine is finally installed at Government PC Sethi Hospital on Monday. Large number of patients will get relief with the installation of new machine as they don’t have to go to any private diagnostic centre.

However, the recklessness of the District Health Department officials came to the fore when they bought an outdated portable machine for the hospital. “The machine bought by the health officer is an outdated one as it will not conduct any advance diagnosis through it. The machine is portable and very small as it can be shifted to any place easily,” hospital sources said.

They further said that many private hospitals are now throwing out such machines and opting for new machines with advance technologies.

“The new machines include the facility of Colour Doppler and other diagnosis but this machine didn’t have any facility and it will just use for sonography. Moreover, the tender of Rs 17 lakh was issued for buying the machine but the department has only spent Rs 3 lakh for it,” they added.

Now, it is a matter of investigation that why the department bought such a machine which is outdated and don’t have any advance technology even after having enough budget. No senior health official was available to comment on this issue.
