Indore : Going a step ahead in taking the help of residents in maintaining cleanliness in the City, the IMC, on Saturday launched a toll-free number and also names of cleaning staff posted at various locations across the city on its official website. It was found that the number must have been launched about 10 days ago but after much ado, the number is out now.
According to information, the IMC is leaving no stone to make the city clean and is putting a lot of efforts in the same direction. The IMC, earlier too, approached the citizens to help them in cleaning the city but nothing remarkable was achieved. But this time the IMC looks much sincere about the task.
It was informed that the motive behind the step is to clean the city and if by chance the cleaning isn’t carried out in the location between noon and 6 pm, then one can dial (1800420010010), the toll free number of the IMC launched for the task in the normal working timing.
In the same sequences, the IMC bigwigs on Saturday issued a list of cleaning staff members posted in various city locations along with their names, working area and working periphery. Devendra Singh, Addl IMC Commissioner said that the civic body is working on developing a cement concrete made to keep the garbage collection boxes. He said that earlier it was found that the general public had to face trouble in putting the garbage into the collection boxes.
If the sources are to be believed than the pressure from the DM is one of the reasons behind the IMC’s workings in garbage lifting. Earlier, the IMC and A2Z were working in the city to maintain the cleanliness but the work wasn’t visible. Soon after the DM’s intervening in the matter, cleanliness at the major locations in the city is visible.
Last chance
If you are still to pay your water tax bills, then hurry up as this could be your last chance for the same. It was said that the IMC water tax collection windows would remain open on Sunday to felicitate the people.
According to the IMC, if any individual wish to disconnect the water connection, then on making an offer payment of Rs 5990 to the IMC, one would need to pay Rs150 as discontinuing charges and the water connection could be disconnected. If the sources are to be believed the IMC may charge more and even disconnect the water connection if one fails to pay the water taxes in the given time frame. Continuing the water connection and not paying anything to the IMC in the same regard may directly result in disconnection of the water connection from the IMC.
