Neemuch: Poppy husk, vehicles worth Rs 1.2 cr seized, one held, two accused escape the raid

Neemuch: Acting on a tip-off police raided a godown and a house here and seized 37 quintal illegal poppy husk, a Tata 407 truck, 3 pickup, 1 bullet, 2 bikes, 21 fake number plates of vehicles, 1 gunny sewing machine, 2 electronic toll forks, 50 empty plastic bags and 1 welding machine on Thursday.

An accused has been arrested by the police while two accused are on the run. Police have sealed the house and Godown.

Action was taken under the leadership of Manasa police station in-charge KL Dangi. Manasa police received information that the smugglers are trying to supply poppy-husk from a godown and house in the town.

Accused Gopal Rewari son of Kanhaiyalal Rewari, aged 30 years, was arrested and booked under relevant sections of IPC.

During the raid accused Manish Tiwari and Hariom Pandit managed give a slip to the police. The seized items are estimated to be worth Rs 1.2 crore.
