The joint-secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and financial advisor, Shyam Dubey, on Saturday inspected IMC’s works going on in the city.
IMC officials said Dubey inspected the nullah taping work at Rasoma Square, GTS at Star Square, biogas plant at Devguradia trenching ground and other projects. He also inspected the Light House project and the Gulmarg complex developed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna. IMC officials briefed him about all the projects, and Dubey appeared impressed by the functioning of the projects.
He said that IMC has done a very good job in solid waste management as well as in Amrit Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Smart City, nullah taping.
He said that he visited Chappan Dukan where he saw how a market can be developed in the central area of the city. He also observed door-to-door garbage collection vehicles running in the city.
He said that the citizens have played an important role in all these drives. Indore has become the number one clean city in the country for five consecutive times due to public participation.
He also reviewed the revenue receipts of IMC in detail. He appreciated the revenue model. He said that it is necessary to have such models for the survival of urban bodies.
He asked for details of several IMC models like those of garbage collection, nullah taping, biogas plant etc so that these IMC models could be replicated in other cities of the country.
