Indore : Suspecting infidelity, a man stabbed his wife to death. However, he was nabbed by the police after the couple’s 10-year old daughter went to her aunt’s house and narrated the whole incident.
According to the police, the incident occurred near Char Number Kuwa in Ganesh Nagar located on Khandwa Road on Saturday night. Manjubai (30) and her husband Suresh Prasad Banwari were tenants in the house of one Dinesh Yadav. Manjubai made a living by working as cook in Yash Technologies located in IT Park, Khandwa Road.
Neighbours told the police that the couple was estranged for some time due to Manjubai’s alleged extramarital affair with one Siyaram, who worked as a cook in Digamber Jain Public School. This led to frequent fights between husband and wife and culminated with Manjubai’s beating.
Manjubai’s sister lived close by and her son Rahul told the police that Manjubai’s 10-year old daughter Jiya had come to their home around 1 am crying and told them that her father had killed her mother.
Jiya said that as usual her parents had started to argument when Manjubai bit Suresh and hit him with a stick. Suresh flew into a rage, snatched the stick from her and stabbed her repeatedly until she collapsed and died. Rahul and other neighbours rushed back to the house and called the police. The police sent the body for autopsy, registered cases against Suresh under Section 302 and arrested him.
