Man arrested for molesting woman

Indore: Betma police on Monday arrested a man who reportedly molested a 26-year-old married woman a few days back. The accused has been identified as Pappu, a resident of Palasia village, the police said.

The victim filed a complaint on August 19 that the accused entered her when she was alone and molested her. He threatened her and escaped when she raised an alarm. The accused is being questioned by the police.

Man dies in accident

A man was killed in a road mishap near Ralamandal late on Sunday night. He was crushed by an unidentified vehicle. Tejaji Nagar police said that the deceased was identified as Mohan Verma. Mohan was returning to his residence when a rashly-driven vehicle hit and crushed him.

He died on the spot. The errant driver fled the scene after the vehicle. The police registered a case and trying to trace the errant driver.

Youth electrocuted

A 35-year-old youth was electrocuted outside his house in Anil Nagar on Monday morning. Police said that one Mahesh Rajore was switching the water pump when he received electric shock and fell down.

He was rushed to a hospital immediately by his family members but it was too late. The police have sent the body for autopsy after investigating the spot and waiting for the post mortem reports.

Boy goes missing from madarsa

A boy went missing from a madarsa in Khajarana area for two days. Police have started a search for him. One Haider of Khajarana lodged a complaint that his 12-year-old son had gone missing from the madarsa on Saturday and did not return home.

“We searched for him everywhere but did not find him.” He suspected that his son was abducted by someone. The police are investigating the matter.

Boy drowns in river

A boy drowned in Gambhir river near Village Sanwalia Khedi on Sunday evening. The victim, Kamal, was bathing in the river when he was pulled away by strong currents.

Kamal’s brother, Dinesh, had seen his clothes near the river bank following which he raised an alarm. Police and fire brogade rescuers rushed to the spot and after hours of search operation, his body was found.

Police have registered a case and were awaiting the report of post-mortem for further action.
