SARDARPUR (DHAR DISTRICT): During the first and second wave of corona, the teachers, of government school in Sardarpur tehsil of Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh, have shouldered responsibilities including survey, awareness campaigns and vaccination centres but they are forced to run from pillar to post to get their identity (ID) cards for over six months.
Teachers are also forced to perform tasks of national importance such as Census, poll duty, voter's identity card. But for now, the teachers will have nothing to furnish if people ask them to show their ID cards.
According to the information, the government has allotted Rs 50 per ID card to Dhar district administration about six months back. But due to the negligence of the education department officials, the identity cards of the teachers have not been made.
Teachers pressed in field work have to face an odd situation while facing police. For sake of duty the teachers are forced to carry documents of allocation of duty to avoid such nuisance.
Education department is at the throes of new academic session which is slated start from June 10 but the wait of teachers for identity cards is yet to end.
When contacted district education officer Ganpat Chauhan said that the work of making ID cards of teachers has been affected due to the corona pandemic. ID cards will be provided to the teachers in the new academic session.
